This is a lovely example of a classic ‘Regency Gold’ design comport by Chance Glass.
The dish has a fluted gilded rim; the remainder is printed with an intricate scrolling design known as ‘Regency Gold’. This design was introduced in 1972 and was the most expensive design to produce due to the extensive coverage of the pattern.
The plate is bolted on to a gold-coloured metal base which is moulded with a grapevine design.
The plate bears the original gold and black sticker, which reads ‘CHANCE GLASS A MEMBER OF THE PILKINGTON GROUP MADE IN ENGLAND’.
It has a maximum height of approximately 5.9cm and a diameter across the rim of about 24.6cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
