This is an attractive Murano glass ashtray, probably dating to the 1960s to 1970s.
The ashtray is circular in form, with an inner layer of blue glass, encased in a thicker flint glass layer. The controlled bubble pattern is at the junction of these two layers. The ashtray has three equidistant indentations on the rim, forming supports for cigarettes. The base is polished out in the centre.
The ashtray has a maximum height of approximately 6.0cm and a maximum diameter of approximately 11.5cm.
It is in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some areas of wear to the edges and the base and some minor scratches inside. In addition, there is a manufacturing artefact in the form of a burst bubble at the surface, which appears to be associated with a piece of frit.
