Set of Four Reproduction Georgian Hops and Barley Wine Glasses c.1870
This is an interesting set of four low lead wine glasses in classic Georgian style but dating to around 1870.
This is an interesting set of four low lead wine glasses in classic Georgian style but dating to around 1870.
The bucket shaped bowl has a thickened base and is cut in the lower half with nine vertical panels with curved upper and lower margins. The upper half of the glass is engraved with a stylised hops and barley design that has been well executed. The stem is short with a central bladed knop. The foot is plain and flat and bears a central tool mark.
Each glass has a height of approximately 11.2cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.2cm and across the foot of about 5.5cm.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
